Hannah Evergreen, DVM

Dr. Hannah Evergreen is a 2004 graduate from Oregon State University, College of Veterinary Medicine.  She has loved, cared for, ridden and trained horses for most of her life; horses are her passion. Before becoming a veterinarian, she gained experienced as a veterinary assistant, horse trainer, and farrier. During veterinary school, Dr. Hannah focused on equine sports medicine and lameness, advanced equine dentistry.  After graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Hannah worked first as an associate veterinarian, then in December of 2004, she started Evergreen Holistic Veterinary Care based out of Monroe, WA.  Dr. Hannah continued her studies of herbs and physical therapy and became certified in veterinary acupuncture in 2005 and chiropractic in 2006.  Dr. Hannah discovered her gift of hands on healing as she mastered these two modalities.

Dr. Hannah strives to provide the best care possible for her patients and believes her unique holistic approach allows her to do so.  Dr. Hannah has a solid foundation in sports medicine and lameness and uses state of the art ultrasound and digital x-ray equipment.  This, along with her training in acupuncture, chiropractic, stretch exercises, massage techniques and other hands on healing modalities, allows Dr. Hannah to rehabilitate horses to their fullest potential.  She excels in rehabilitating horses with lameness, neck and back injuries as well horses with pain related behavioral problems.  She continues to offer farm calls but has now added a rehabilitation center for haul in appointments and short or long term boarding with rehabilitation packages.

Dr. Hannah strives to follow holistic principles not only in her practice but also in her daily life. She feels that stewardship to animals, the environment, and to her community is a key element of holistic living.  She recently helped start a non-profit rescue horse rehabilitation, education, and EFL center (Northwest Equine Stewardship Center) to compliment her holistic veterinary practice and runs both businesses out of the same barn.  She enjoys giving talks for NWESC’s monthly Educational Series Symposiums and teaching vet and tech students how to perform veterinary procedures while providing veterinary care and rehabilitation for rescue horses. She has also started weekly yoga and stretch classes as well as bodywork workshops for horses through EHVC.

On a more personal level, Dr. Hannah lives on her woodland farm in Monroe, Washington with her husband (Dr. Brad Evergreen, EHVC Small Animal) and daughter Heron as well as her many dogs, cats and horses. She enjoys hiking, biking and of course, riding.
